CHILD EDUCATION

EDUCATION : Despite its obvious benefits, a formal education is not universally accessible to every child, every man, every woman. Education has been and remains a luxury, a luxury often unattainable for those occupying disadvantaged stations in life. Literacy, professional advancement and in general success in life are all results of a solid educational background. Our goal should be a world where everyone, even the most disadvantaged, receive adequate education to prepare them for a productive life.

BUILDING SCHOOLS: GCOM is in the beginning stages of opening a new school in Haiti and we would like to invite you to be a part of the work God is doing here. This school will help to raise up a future generation of Haitian leaders. Haiti is very much in need of schools, education is not free in Haiti, and is a priceless treasure for the few who can afford the gift of education. Only 50% of the Haitian population is literate. The gift of education gives a child the chance of a brighter future, please help give many Haitian children a future!

You will receive updates regarding urgent prayer needs along with reports of answered prayers in child sponsor communities.

How Can I Make A Difference?

Your monthly gift of $30 is the first step in making a lasting difference in the life of your sponsored child. Through your monthly pledge, our local staff implements the child sponsorship program. Our field staff is best able to manage efficient, reliable programs when they can count on a dependable and timely flow of money coming in.

the gift of a relationship is another way you have the opportunity to minister to your child. Write to your sponsored child. Let that child know they are valued and someone far away is thinking of them and praying for them. Both you and your sponsored child will benefit greatly from this relationship.

Finally,you can pray for your child and his or her community. Even when you are thousands of miles away, your prayers make a direct difference in that child's life. For sponsors who want to make this a strong part of their support relationship, GCOM's Sponsor Prayer Network is a unique opportunity to learn about specific needs that you can pray for involving the children we serve.

What Do Sponsors Receive?
Throughout the year, GCOM provides ways for you to further communicate with your child and deepen your sponsor relationship.

When you begin your sponsorship, GCOM will send you a New Sponsor Information Packet. This packet will help you understand your role as a sponsor and ways in which you can communicate and minister to your child.

Information about your sponsored child's community and field staff

Annual progress reports of the benefits your child has received through your support with an updated picture so you can watch your child grow. 

Opportunities to write your child either by mail or email. If you write to your sponsored child, you will receive reply letters (translated if the child does not speak English).

Bi-annual newsletter with updates from  where your sponsored child lives.

Tax-deductible statements for your child sponsorship support

Opportunities to participate in additional sponsorship programs like the Sponsor Prayer Network which keeps you alerted on specific prayer needs of the children...
